Plans for INWED 2020

Plans are in place for a collaborative event at Middlesbrough College showcasing some of our impressive local speakers who will enthuse and encourage everyone to think about how they can Shape the World by Influencing Inclusion.

In order to include our own Jo Douglas-Harris and others with plans on ‘the actual day’ we shall be having this on 16th June 2020.

Chairs call for Volunteers

Our Committee’s and Subgroups are always on the lookout for volunteers to help support our activities.

If you are able to give your time or resources then please get in touch, we would be
delighted to hear from you.

Volunteering is good for your professional development and it makes you feel great as you can really see the difference you make.

Engineers from all sectors are welcome to join us on the Council.

Another great way of getting involved is becoming a STEM Ambassador (https://www.stem.org.uk/stem-ambassadors) and then can volunteer to help out at the events organised by Engineering Together and others.

Collaboration, Diversity and STEM Week

Engineering Together’s inclusive approach was to invite all Professional Engineering Institutions. This contact led to IHEEM involvement and contact with IHEEMs Project Support Officer & STEM Ambassador.

Monira Kaouech come all the way from Portsmouth to collaborate with our Council members and members of many other institutions to make the most out of the trip.

Our collaboration this week was very successful we saw 156 students across all 5 Tees Valley Boroughs and had great feedback.

This is what one student said when asked if they enjoyed it…

All inclusive

We had a great get together tonight talking about our Diversity subgroup, looking forward to what we can do together.

If you’re interested in getting involved get in touch!

Monster STEMette

Paula, Jackie and Paul Ingram of Engineering Together helped with speed mentoring and interviews. We were even represented on the panel.

What do you get when you cross a bunch of scientists, technologists, engineers, mathematicians and a purple monster? Monster Confidence of course….
Very pleased with our gifts for being on a Monster Panel.
