EngTog’s Julie leading the way for Green Careers Week

Week commencing 7 to 11th of November is Green Careers week. Our Climate Change champion Julie is delivering ‘Climate Change, Scientists & Engineers needed’ to approx. 500 students in Teesside that week.

The workshops demonstrate what our engineers are doing to tackle climate change. Using Green hydrogen as an example, Julie will be using the model solar powered hydrogen cars so young people can see an alternative energy source to fossil fuels.

Julie will also be delivering a UK Space Agency funded workshop that demonstrates how we can use sustainability in space here on earth. Using the International Space Station as an example the sessions cover, energy supply, water recycling and experiments with fungi as an alternative material.

If you are a STEM Ambassador who wishes to get involved please email we.are.engineering.together@gmail.com and we shall put you in touch with Julie.

Julie is a Community Star

Our very own Julie Harrison has won a Stockton on Tees Community Star Award 🙂

We have always known she is a star but it is lovely to know that her work is being recognised more widely.

Well done Julie and thank you for all that you do.

Big Minds Bright Futures

I was please to part take in my second event for Big Minds Bright Futures

The first was Girl in Charge where I had the pleasure of meeting Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson and we shared inspiration and stories. The second an environmental panel event – we discussed everything from tree planting to GCSE curriculum.

This group and the things they do really give me hope for the future.
